Job Title: CNC Programmer/Machinist

Job Description

As a CNC Programmer/Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and programming CNC machinery with a high level of knowledge and expertise.

You will work with HAAS mills to produce high-quality products, collaborating with other team members on large or time-sensitive projects.

Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential for effective interaction with team members and customers.

Responsibilities

• Create and write CNC programs using CAD/CAM applications, including Solidworks for CAD and Mastercam/Solidcam for programming CNC machines.
• Design components for the first articles of production.
• Monitor quality by taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting machine processes, and adjusting controls while adhering to quality assurance procedures.
• Set up and operate CNC machines (VF-1, VF-2, VF-3, VF-4, and VF-6).
• Complete paperwork to maintain records and department standards.
• Read complex blueprints and job orders to determine product specifications.
• Select tools and secure tool holders such as chucks and collets.
• Verify conformance of workpieces to specification by monitoring CNC machine operations.
• Sharpen multiple-point tools as needed.
• Compute dimensions, plan layout, and determine the sequence of operations during the manufacturing process.
• Achieve the desired quality level of custom precision parts and conduct final inspection procedures.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience as a CNC Programmer/Machinist.
• 3+ years of experience in tooling and metalworking.
• 3-5 years of experience using CAD/CAM applications, Mastercam/Solidcam, and Solidworks for programming and machining.
• Strong knowledge and experience with CAD/CAM applications, Mastercam/Solidcam, and Solidworks.
• Fluency in verbal and written English.
• Ability to perform tasks and assignments with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyman ticket.
• Education in industrial engineering technology, manufacturing technology, or a related discipline.
• Engineering degree.

Work Environment

You will work in a jobbing shop with a team of 14 machinists.

The work schedule is a morning shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Delta, BC.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Delta,BC.
